the train will always pass you by
I live near the train tracks. Every day, I can see trains passing right by the forest in the distance.
There’s such pain in watching the trains go by, knowing that they won’t stop for you.
A short story about transport exclusion and rural pain, written entirely on a train. the train will always pass you by can be read on its own, or followed with the second part of the Car 13, Seat 26 project, she came from the fog.

oh my god yes. I used to stand at the level crossing just wishing the trains could spirit me away from the fields. the part about being locked out from normal human experiences like seeing your friends after school and going to the library is just so cruel. trains are beautiful wishes!
Although I’ve never lived in rural areas, I have lived in suburban isolation in Singapore. Parts of it resonate with me, parts of it don’t. It makes me think I should write a Chapbook game responding to this someday.
Thanks for making the game!
I absolutely loved this journey. I've read both of the Car 13, Seat 26 stories and I love how each of them feel different based on the your journey.
They are beautifully written. The flow and pacing is perfect for a quiet moment's reading.
"The train will always pass you by" really captures rural isolation. Got me thinking about a bunch of things. Thanks for writing these stories.
